High resolution artwork including spot colours with marks and bleeds, movie and animation embedding, hyperlinks, digital signatures, electronic post-it notes for marking up artwork and now 3D - yes Acrobat technology really does it all.
In the beginning creating Acrobat PDF (portable document format) files was a clumsy process involving Postscript printing followed by distillation and a raft of settings to navigate your way through. Thankfully the Creative Suite applications all have PDF output and management as a built-in feature.
Most people tend to use PDF's for their output from InDesign going to either commercial print or to a company web site - internet or intranet. With a little better understanding and the use of saved profiles creating a PDF with the optimum settings for it's target can be just a couple of clicks.
An overview of Acrobat features
• Image compression - understanding all the compression options and implications
• Marks, bleeds and blend space transparency - when to use them and why
• Avoiding output issues when using transparency
